China warman 3QV-AF Vertical Froth Slurry Pump for Mining

  • The Minerco froth pump is a specialized slurry pump designed to handle air-entrained, frothy slurries typically generated in flotation machines. These pumps play a crucial role in mining operations, where they transport slurry containing a mixture of water, air, and mineral particles from processing units to tailings ponds. Due to the abrasive and corrosive nature of these slurries—compounded by their high froth factor—conventional pumps often suffer from rapid wear and performance issues. Minerco’s froth pump is engineered to overcome these challenges.

  • Unlike standard slurry pumps, the Minerco froth pump features an innovative design that efficiently removes entrained air from the slurry, ensuring continuous operation and extended wear life. The impeller shroud includes several flat radial vanes and a large inlet eye, enabling smooth passage of frothy slurry through wide-open channels. This unique configuration reduces the need for pump oversizing, allowing the use of standard Minerco slurry pumps in froth factor applications up to 2.5.

  • Entrained air in froth slurries often consists of fine bubbles, which can vary with changes in operating conditions. These variations typically hinder conventional centrifugal pumps, which struggle to remove the trapped air. The result is poor performance, air binding, and accelerated wear.

  • To combat this, the Minerco froth pump is equipped with a vented discharge system, providing a continuous flow path that prevents air buildup inside the casing. This not only eliminates air-locking issues but also protects key components such as the impeller and shaft from overload, ensuring reliable performance even under fluctuating froth conditions.

  • Additionally, Minerco offers an advanced Continuous Air Removal System (CARS). This optional system uses a flow inducer behind the main impeller to induce a swirling motion in the slurry. As heavier slurry is forced to the outer edge and lighter, air-laden slurry remains inside, entrained air is vented through strategically placed impeller holes into a gas collection chamber. This prevents air accumulation, reduces the risk of cavitation, and boosts overall efficiency.

  • With the mining industry adopting newer flotation techniques to maximize mineral recovery, dealing with more tenacious froths has become essential. Pumps without effective air-removal systems frequently suffer from bottlenecks and increased maintenance. The Minerco froth pump, particularly when outfitted with the CARS system, provides a dependable solution. It can even be retrofitted to existing Minerco SRL-C pump sizes, expanding application versatility and often allowing for a smaller, more cost-effective pump selection.
